1. Never ever load your potato cannon if you don’t intend to use it immediately. A loaded spud gun is very dangerous. The trigger can be pressed accidentally, causing immense loss of life, livestock, and assets. Identify a target first and then load your spud gun.

2. Now get a potato and fix it down the barrel of the spud gun. You can use a broom or a pole to wedge the potato down the barrel. Make sure that the potato fits in tightly in the barrel. If the edges of the potato are trimmed off when you put it in, you can rest assured that it is fixed properly.
